Trouble in the Castle [Let's Play Dragon Warrior 2]

Welcome to Dragon Warrior 2. Despite the name, this is my first time playing a Dragon Warrior game, so you'll have to bear with me (bare with me? I never had to write that out before). Today's episode is all about getting started. I input my name and learn about what's happening in the world. An evil warlock is messing with the kingdoms of the land, and it's up to Connor to assemble a team and put a stop to the injustice. I leave my throne room, get a sword, and fight a few enemies in an attempt to understand how the game works. It is very similar to Earthbound, so the honeymoon/exploration phase shouldn't last too long. While fighting enemies, I also get my first of many level ups. The hardest part of today's adventure was figuring out how to save, but it wasn't that bad. I just needed to talk to the king/my father.
