Những Bí Ẩn Curiosity Tìm Thấy Trên Sao Hỏa
On August 6, 2012, Curiosity successfully landed on Mars after a journey of more than eight months from Earth. Initially, its mission was designed to operate for only about two years. But more than a decade later, Curiosity continues to quietly move across the surface of the red planet, sending back data that is gradually changing how we understand Mars. During its 12 years of operation, Curiosity has discovered evidence suggesting that rivers, lakes, and an environment potentially suitable for life once existed there billions of years ago. It found pebbles eroded by water, layers of sedimentary rock formed at the bottom of ancient lakes, and many carbon-containing organic compounds – the basic building blocks of life. What puzzled scientists most was methane gas. Curiosity has repeatedly observed cyclical increases and decreases in atmospheric methane concentrations, but its exact origin remains unknown. On Earth, most methane is produced by living organisms. However, it can also form from geological processes. Is Mars simply "breathing" through geological activity...? Or is there something undiscovered beneath the surface? Furthermore, Curiosity has detected evidence of complex organic compounds preserved in ancient rocks billions of years old. These findings don't prove that Mars ever had life. But they suggest that the planet once possessed almost all the necessary conditions for life to exist. After more than a decade, Curiosity has not only completed its original mission... It has opened up one of humanity's biggest questions: If life ever existed on Mars...
