Former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd hailed former Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Michael Somare as a 'great friend of Australia' after the 84-year-old died on Friday. Sir Michael headed the nation four times and was its longest-serving leader, including as chief minister before decolonisation in 1975.
