Bwisagi Titles Conferred at 28th Kokrajhar Rongjali Bwisagu Celebration Mamata Brahma of Tengapara, W/No-5, Kokrajhar was crowned Bwisagi Khungri, while Bhumika Narzary of Bhalukjhora, Kokrajhar was crowned Bwisagi Aijw. Sabitri Brahma of Matiadol, Parbatjhora was crowned Bwisagi Sikhla at the 28th Rongjali Bwisagu celebration held at Rongjasali Geolang Fwthar Sunday evening. The 28th Rongjali Bwisagu Fwrbw 2026, organised under the aegis of the Kokrajhar Rongjali Bwisagu Celebration Committee, concluded after a two-day event marked by great enthusiasm and cultural splendour. The celebration began with the ceremonial hoisting of the Bwisagu flag by the committee president Supen Chandra Brahma, formally inaugurating the festivities. A solemn tribute was also paid to noted Bodo singer Arun Narzary, who passed away on April 10, 2026. The main pandal of the event was inaugurated by BTC MCLA Doneswar Goyary, while a souvenir (mouthpiece) was unveiled by Pratibha Brahma, former chairman of Kokrajhar Municipal Board. A series of competitions, including the traditional Bwisagu-Khungri contest, along with art and literary events involving students and youth, were organised as part of the celebration. The programme witnessed vibrant participation from Bwisagu troupes representing different parts of Kokrajhar. Dressed in traditional Bodo attire such as dokhna-jwmgra, gamsa, and aronai, performers added colour and energy to the festivities, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and communal harmony associated with the festival.
