Can Modern Life and Simple Living Coexist?
Holding onto a simple life feels harder in a modern world — even here in the countryside. As my cabin slowly transitions from off-grid living, I’ve been thinking a lot about how to stay grounded in nature and the rhythms of the seasons. In this video, I plant seeds and vegetables in the garden, cook over the fire, and share my thoughts on seasonal living, growing food, and building a slower, more intentional life connected to the natural world. This year, my goal is to grow and harvest food for as much of the year as possible — and maybe even begin shaping the dream of a future seasonal cookbook inspired by garden-to-table meals and life through the seasons. If you enjoy slow living, tiny house living, gardening, seasonal food, simple living, and nature-inspired lifestyles, I hope you’ll enjoy spending time here. #SlowLiving #OffGridLiving #SeasonalLiving #TinyHouse #SimpleLiving #Gardening #Homesteading #NatureConnection #GardenToTable #LivingWithTheSeasons Chapters: 00:00 How will I stay connected to nature after off-grid? 01:36 Prolonging my bean harvest 02:52 The value of growing your own food 03:56 Building a mesh for my tall peas 04:54 Building a rack for runner beans 05:25 Growing food connects us to culture and history 07:10 Talking about perennial crops: ferns, hostas and nettles 09:46 Aiming for a very long growing season in the garden 10:51 Talking about my purple asparagus 11:17 How permaculture gardening teaches me to connect with nature 13:27 Should I write a cook book? 16:57 Towards my new life after off-grid
