Director and co-writer of new film 'Palm Beach' tells The FIERCE about her fight to get work as a women in film, and the shift in female representation on film sets. She directs husband Bryan Brown as well as her daughter Matilda Brown in the film. Ward says despite the success of her first feature film 'Beautiful Kate', and television directing roles, it took her husband being a producer on the film for her to get her next directing gig. Voted in 1983 by US audiences as one of the 10 most beautiful women in the world, the actress turned director describes the shifts she has seen in female representation in the film industry, and the changes she's still waiting to see.
