INTEGRACIÓN Y EFICIENCIA GENÉTICA EN EL CICLO COMPLETO

Sebastián Riffel detailed the ranch's production system, differentiating between the commercial biological management of the purebred herd and that of competition cattle. In the commercial segment, the company prioritizes pasture-based rearing processes using alfalfa and fescue pastures combined with green fodder. Meanwhile, the elite line receives specific rations and early supplementation from two months of age through creep feeding. The specialist emphasized the importance of measuring each weight gain curve according to category, where the industrial steer occupies the lowest priority in terms of pasture-based grazing, but achieves outstanding finishes of 500 to 540 kilos in feedlots. Riffel underscored that the ranch's genetic merit allows for highly efficient feed-to-meat conversion (6 to 6.5 kilos of feed per kilo produced) in heavy animals. Finally, he emphasized the corporate benefits of producing their own feed on-site, reducing transactional expenses such as freight and marketing, thus achieving a sustainable business in the face of potential market fluctuations.
