Midland Railway Butterley - Victorian Train Weekend - 03/05/25

A chance to see double steam at the Midland Railway Centre, Butterley, as flagship LMS 3F Jinty 16440 takes charge of the railway's vintage set of Midland Railway coaches, whilst BR Standard 4MT Tank 80080 performs her first public runs after returning to the line following long-term loan at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. The Midland Railway crimson livery of LMS 16440 matches with the nice selection of MR coaches in the railway's vintage set, which see rare use a handful of times each year. The latest addition to the set is MR Motor Car Van 26481, with restoration work having been completed recently, with 26481 having not run in a number of years. Other notable coaches to look out for include Lancashire, Derbyshire & East Coast Railway No.6, MR Royal Saloon No.1910, and MR Third Class Coach No.78, the oldest surviving coach of the Midland Railway, dating back to approximately 1866.
