Once the group checks in and addresses any last-minute repairs or tech inspection issues they load up and follow leader Rick Péwé trekking to the Nebraska Sand Hills where they await steep climbs, narrow gullies, and plenty of trees before reaching a 3-foot water crossing at Dismal River.
