Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk - 3 Day Section Hike

3 Day hike on the Sunshine Coast. This was a nice loop of the North West Section of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk There were some consistent inclines over the first two days, but you are well rewarded with spectacular views. Thilba Thalba Camp Site was my favorite, well elevated with beautiful views. The trail offered changing landscapes over the few days from open woodlands to dense rainforest, I really enjoyed the majority of this trail. This hike could be done in two days, which would have made day two a 17km hike, however we wanted to enjoy another night out in the wilderness before heading off back home. Hiking in a clockwise direction - Day 1 - Leafy Lane Trail Head to Thilba Thalba Walkers Camp (14.4km Approx) It took us 3 hours and 50 minutes hiking time not including stops. Day 2 - Thilba Thalba Walkers Camp to Ubajee Walkers Camp (14km Approx) It took us 3 hours and 43 minutes hiking time not including stops. Day 3 - Ubajee Walkers Camp to Leafy Lane Trail Head (3km Approx) It took us 35 minutes hiking time not including stops. Camp bookings are essential and can be done through Queensland National Parks https://parks.desi.qld.gov.au/ Camp sites have drop toilets and water tanks, but always wise to check with Queensland Parks to enquire on water levels of these water tanks. In saying that, there are many creeks along the way which you could collect water and treat it to make it safe to drink either boil, filter or use purification tablets 😊
