Synchronsprecher werden – ich leihe Schauspielern meine Stimme | reporter

Voice actors play a crucial role in films and TV series, but hardly anyone recognizes the people behind the voices that lend their German voices to popular actors. After our reporter documentary "How Do I Become an Actor?", our community asked if we could also make a film about voice acting. How does one get into the profession? How do voice actors work? Our reporter, Philipp Isterewicz, met voice actor Philip Süß (20) in Berlin. Philip lends his voice to characters in shows like "New Girl," "Twin Peaks," and "Fuller House." Besides his work as a voice actor, Philip also works as a dialogue director and scriptwriter. We asked Philip all about his career path, whether it's possible to make a living as a voice actor, and he showed us how he dubs. To give you some background: Philip started dubbing anime and uploading his videos to YouTube when he was 12 years old. A screenwriter noticed his talent. To avoid spoilers and for legal reasons, we've dubbed previously released material from an animated film (Mama Fox and Papa Badger, KIKA) as an example. Our reporter also received a crash course in dubbing from Philip. Do I need acting training to become a voice actor? As Philip explains, there's no formal training. As in many other media professions, talent is paramount. Acting workshops or voice coaching, for example, can be helpful. Most voice actors, like Philip, work freelance. They don't have regular working hours and are paid per gig. That means: no gigs, no money. Many voice actors are represented by agencies that represent them. © 2016 DARGAUD MEDIA - ELLIPSANIME PRODUCTIONS - PHILM CGI The funk format "reporter" ended on December 31, 2023.
