Biysk Airport is an airport that has been inactive since 2009, located 12 km southeast of the city of Biysk in the Altai Territory. Since 2009 and as of March 2021, it has not received regular flights. Since 2013, after the closure of the weather station and fire department, it has not had the right to receive aircraft. The airport infrastructure, in particular the radar equipment, was partially dismantled in 2013-2014. The fuel equipment is almost completely destroyed by corrosion, there is no water supply. The territory is practically unguarded. Looting by local residents and summer residents has begun. It was last used in August 2009 for the temporary basing of the Ministry of Emergency Situations aircraft participating in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station. The runway, taxiways, and aircraft parking areas at the Biysk airport are worn out to a state that does not facilitate safe operation, i.e., they require major repairs. In 2008, it was planned to begin reconstruction, after which, according to the Altai Krai authorities, the airport would serve guests of the tourist zone "Turquoise Katun" and the gambling zone "Siberian Coin" and be able to receive aircraft of all classes. In August 2013, the airport property was transferred to regional ownership based on an agreement between the Federal Air Transport Agency and the Governor of the Altai Krai. The new start date for the airport reconstruction was to be 2014, and the end date was 2016. However, as of July 2018, the reconstruction has not begun.
