Pilate granted him permission, and he went and took down Jesus' body. 39 Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus at night earlier, also brought about a hundred pounds of myrrh and agarwood. 40 They took down Jesus' body and wrapped it in linen cloths with spices, according to the Jewish custom of burial. 41 At the place where Jesus had been crucified, there was a garden in which no one had yet been buried. 42 Since that day was the day of preparation for the Jews, and the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus in it.
