Corso di Boogie Woogie - 2°Lezione | CAMBIO DI POSTO | by Millelire

Boogie-woogie is a blues style of piano music that became very popular in the 1930s and 1940s, danced to a six-count musical scale with syncopated steps. In the early 1900s, black pianists in Texas began developing a faster, more rhythmic form of the blues. The goal was to entertain people in juke joints, bars where people would party and dance in the evenings. These venues were located in workers' camps, for example, near railroad construction sites. Often, even trains had a pianist. The word referred to a form of dancing, and for the first time in the history of music, this style was presented to a white audience at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York. From that day on, a veritable boom began. This boom placed this new musical style at the top of all record sales. The boogie-woogie genre thus ended up being played and danced throughout the United States.
