He explained that most people prioritize other goals, such as buying goods or traveling, over saving for retirement. González Izquierdo maintained that this is one of the reasons why, in many cases, retirement savings are mandatory. "If this obligation didn't exist, savings would be insufficient to ensure a decent pension," he stated.
