SANTAL HOPON ERA BẠHU-BANDE | CHITẠḌIH ATO, KALAHAPẠNI MANḌER | DOṄ SO̠GO̠E ENEĆ

This video showcases and captures the beautiful moments of "BẠHU-BANDE", the Santali Engagement Ceremony at bride's house. Bạhu Bande is an engagement ceremony where would be groom, his family members and relatives of groom come to bride's house with a purpose to engage her for maariage. The people of groom side present "Sari", an Indian attire for women or dress her up with "Pạ̃ńci-Pãṛhãṭ" a typical dress worn by Santal women. The engagement ceremony also take place with ring ceremony where the groom put on a ring on bride's finger and hands over new clothes, sweets, baskets of frutis and gift. The women from the bride side plays a crucial role and each elderly relative of groom either give beautiful new saris and put on those Saris to the would be new "bạhu". The program is enjoyed with dance and song where both men and women dance togather in a special musical tune called " Doṅ Sereń". Let's watch and the ceremony.
