Fishing Detroit for the First Time

I went fishing on the Detroit RiverWalk for the first time with one goal — catch my first walleye! 🎣 While visiting Detroit, I brought my travel rod and spent two days exploring the river, trying different spots, and chasing a fish I’ve always wanted to catch. The walleye bite was tough. I saw one walleye caught, but unfortunately I couldn’t land one this trip. Even though the walleye mission failed, the Detroit River still delivered. I was able to hook into two freshwater drum, which many locals call sheepshead, and on day two I caught a smallmouth bass to add another new species to the adventure. Fishing new places is always a challenge, but that’s what makes it exciting.
