Florya is one of Istanbul’s greenest, most peaceful, and most beautiful seaside neighborhoods. Located on the coast of the Marmara Sea, Florya is famous for its scenic walking paths, parks, beaches, and relaxing atmosphere. It is a favorite destination for both locals and visitors who enjoy walking, cycling, spending time by the sea, and watching the sunset. Florya became especially significant during the early years of the Republic of Türkiye. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk admired the area’s fresh air, peaceful environment, and beautiful coastline, and he frequently visited Florya to relax and work. In 1935, the Florya Atatürk Marine Mansion was built over the sea by the municipality for Atatürk’s use. Designed so that he could enjoy being close to the sea, the mansion later became one of the Republic’s most important historical landmarks. This walking tour begins at Aqua Florya Shopping Mall and continues along the beautiful coastline to the Florya Atatürk Marine Mansion. Unfortunately, during our visit, the mansion was closed for a major restoration project. According to the information available on-site, the restoration is expected to take approximately one to two years. Although we couldn’t visit the mansion, we were still able to enjoy and share its beautiful surroundings with you.
