When verifying compliance, the processing office only determines whether all required documents are included. The validity or authenticity of the information is only verified when the application is processed. The following documents are required for each work experience declared: Letter of recommendation or letter of attestation of experience from the employer, which: should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant's name, company contact information (address, telephone number, email address), and the name, title, and signature of the applicant's immediate supervisor or human resources representative); must list all positions held by the applicant while employed by the company and include the following information: job title, duties and responsibilities, employment status (if current), period of employment, number of hours worked per week, as well as annual salary and benefits; If the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other proof of business ownership, proof of self-employment income, and third-party documentation indicating services provided and payment details (a personal statement of principal duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employment experience). If the work experience was acquired in Canada, the following documents may be used as proof: copies of T4 tax slips and Canada Revenue Agency Notices of Assessment (the period covered by these documents must reflect the period indicated for the work experience (e.g., work experience from 2006 to 2008 only requires documentation covering those calendar years)).
