My New Tesla Was NOT Ready for This Walmart Spark Delivery

#WalmartSpark #GigWork #TeslaModelY A Walmart Spark driver takes a brand-new Tesla Model Y gig work setup into the real world as this retired gig worker tackles shopping orders, rough rural roads, and a surprise repeat delivery to the pit bull customer. I'm still doing the same DoorDash and Walmart Spark side hustle—I'm just learning what changes when the delivery vehicle is a 2026 Tesla Model Y. Welcome back to The Silver Dasher! I'm retired and make extra money working DoorDash and Walmart Spark while recording the real adventures, misadventures, good orders, bad offers, and unexpected moments of gig work in Alabama. Today is my first real Walmart Spark workday since picking up my 2026 Tesla Model Y, and there's definitely a learning curve. I'm testing my new delivery tubs, figuring out camera mounts under the Tesla glass roof, learning how the cargo space works with large Walmart Spark shopping orders, and discovering how the Tesla handles the rural roads I regularly encounter as a delivery driver. One Walmart Spark delivery takes me down a road that barely qualifies as a road, where the Tesla experiences a little slippage. Later, I discuss the challenges of gravel and dirt roads, ground clearance, protecting the battery, and the limitations I've already noticed while using Tesla's driving technology during real-world gig work. Then I get a Walmart Spark shopping order for a customer I definitely remember—the customer with the pit bull that scared me during a previous delivery! This visit turns out very differently. I also accept a $46.72 Walmart Spark shopping order with 76 items for a repeat customer. The large order gives me a real opportunity to see how the Tesla Model Y cargo space works for Walmart Spark in a Tesla. Between the new collapsible delivery tubs and the Tesla's extra storage areas, I'm starting to learn how this electric vehicle fits into my established gig-work routine. I want to be clear: The Silver Dasher is not becoming a Tesla review channel. I didn't buy the Tesla specifically for DoorDash or Walmart Spark. This is the car I wanted for retirement, and gig work helped me save extra money toward the down payment. Since I'm continuing my retirement side hustle, you'll now see my real experience doing DoorDash in a Tesla and Walmart Spark in a Tesla as part of the daily VLOG. Over time, I'll naturally share what I learn about Tesla Model Y gig work, electric vehicle delivery driving, EV operating costs, charging, battery range, comfort, cargo space, mileage, and whether using an EV for gig work changes the way I make money. If you're a DoorDash driver, Walmart Spark driver, gig worker, retired person looking for a side hustle, or someone over 60 wondering about making extra money in retirement, subscribe and come along for the ride. And if you're a Tesla Model Y owner or you're curious about electric vehicle gig work and the real-world experience of an EV delivery driver, you're welcome to follow this new part of my gig-work adventure too. 🛒 The Silver Dasher Store: https://the-silver-dasher-store.mysho... 🧰 Equipment I Use: https://amzn.to/4c5b9tj 🧰 YouTube Tool I Use To Help Create Videos: https://vidiq.com/TheSilverDasher #DoorDashDriver #WalmartSparkDriver #RetirementSideHustle #GigEconomy #DeliveryDriver #EVGigWork #TeslaGigWork Timestamps 00:00 — The Silver Dasher 00:04 — Friday Walmart Spark Begins 00:08 — $32 Walmart Spark Shopping Order 01:25 — Why I Bought the Tesla Model Y 03:20 — My Retirement Car Decision 03:55 — Tesla vs. RAV4 Cargo Space 04:53 — First Walmart Spark Shopping Drop-Off 05:30 — Tesla Camera Mount Problems 05:59 — Learning the Tesla Glass Roof Setup 06:43 — Testing a $20 Walmart Spark Pickup 07:24 — New Delivery Tubs Get Their First Test 08:08 — Taking the Tesla Down a Road That's Not a Road 08:20 — The Tesla Slips on the Rough Road 08:47 — I Reject a 60+ Item Walmart Spark Order 09:38 — You Are NOT Going to Believe This 09:45 — Back at the Pit Bull Customer's House 10:00 — The Pit Bull Is Completely Different This Time 10:40 — My First Days With the Tesla 11:24 — $46.72 Walmart Spark Offer Appears 11:30 — 76 Items! 12:02 — A Little Boy Wants a Picture of My Tesla 12:14 — I Let Him Sit in the Tesla 13:06 — The 76-Item Walmart Spark Order Was Challenging 13:50 — Filling the Tesla With a Large Spark Order 14:34 — Alcohol Shopping Order 14:57 — Sunshine and Pouring Rain 16:07 — Wrapping Up My First Tesla Spark Day 16:59 — Tesla Cooling Seats Help in the Alabama Heat 17:25 — My Experience With Tesla Self-Driving 17:40 — When I Take Control From Self-Driving 18:00 — Tesla Has Trouble With a One-Way Tunnel 18:20 — You Still Have to Pay Attention 19:01 — Tesla Problems on Dirt and Gravel Roads 19:19 — I Got a Little Stuck 23:53 — Today's Walmart Spark Results 24:41 — The Channel Is Still About Gig Work 25:26 — How I'm Controlling My Tesla Mileage 27:14 — See You Sunday
