Holy Spirit or deception? What fruit is the Toronto Blessing sowing bearing? Łukasz Malinowski and Marcin Remisiewicz, creators of the zwiedzeni.pl portal, were the guests of the Topic of the Day. In a conversation with Ewa Pietrzak, they explained how to forge a safe charismatic path in the Catholic Church. "After our discernment, we can say that the Holy Spirit is absent here. If he ever existed at all, he disappeared under the influence of human pride, the pursuit of sensations, the gospel of success, the pursuit of miracles," said Marcin Remisiewicz. "The gospel of success is a rather dangerous gospel if it does not flow from the Gospel of the Cross." Among the representatives of the Toronto Blessing movement, this cross is very scarce; it is even marginalized, added Łukasz Malinowski. As Marcin emphasized, "a deep relationship with God, which results in charisms or service in the power of the Holy Spirit, should result from following Christ all the way. We go to the cross, we remain under it, and then on to the resurrection." According to him, these are practices that do not recognize this cross. "There are priests in the Catholic Church who observe this phenomenon and deny it," stated Łukasz. "The Toronto Blessing movement has become a dangerous movement when it comes to drawing from it," he added. "On January 20, 1994, there was an ultra-charismatic Pentecostal church in Toronto. During a preaching by Randy Clark, who initiated the Toronto Blessing, everyone experienced a blessing, people started laughing en masse, but also strange phenomena began to occur. Someone was leading a man on a leash." Defenders of this movement say it was in the Spirit. However, the Holy Spirit will never humiliate a person, Łukasz explained. "Polish charismatic communities have become deeply entrenched in this trend and have begun to draw from it uncritically. The entire charismatic community is saturated with this movement," Marcin said. As Łukasz noted, "the charismatic movement in our Church is very necessary, but we need to give structure to charismatic communities." "You can't be a charismatic without the cross," Łukasz Malinowski emphasized. "We felt a call from Our Lady to address this issue," said Marcin Remisiewicz.
