Data, Nature & Energy: Technology for Climate Impact

Join us for an evening meetup exploring the role of data and AI in advancing net zero, clean energy, and climate innovation. As organisations across sectors work to decarbonise and respond to the climate crisis, data and AI are becoming increasingly important tools. Measuring environmental impact, modelling future scenarios and optimising energy systems are all data-led approaches that are central to how climate challenges are addressed. We'll hear from two accomplished experts in the field who will share their unique perspectives in using data to enable more sustainable practices. Dr Hannah Rudman is Director of Development and Policy at Highlands Rewilding, a mass-ownership company that is on a mission to enable nature recovery and community prosperity through rewilding. Also joining us is Dr Jassel Majevadia, a data and analytics leader with a decade of experience in financial services, mining and energy. Jassel will share her first-hand experience leading the modelling behind Anglo-American's Southern African decarbonisation programme. Jassel’s work focuses on Techno-Economic modelling, the practice of combining physical performance simulation of technologies (wind turbines, solar farms, BESS) with financial analysis to determine whether an energy project is viable. As always, there will be lots of time for networking and opportunities to connect with others working in data and AI. Speakers: • Dr Hannah Rudman – Director of Development and Policy, Highlands Rewilding, and Co-chair, Scottish Forum on Natural Capital • Dr Jassel Majevadia - Data and Analytics Leader in Energy & Mining --------------------------------- Join a thriving network of over 8000 data & AI professionals, students and enthusiasts.
