Händel - Concerto Grosso No. 8, HWV 326

Composed by Georg Friedrich Händel, they are a series of concerts for a concertina trio of two violins and cello and a four-string orchestra with continuous harpsichord. First published in 1739 by John Walsh, it was later renamed Op. 6 in a conscious effort to link them to Corelli's Twelve Great Concertos. Händel devoted a considerable amount of time to the composition of these concertos, incorporating the full range of his compositional styles. Concerts include trio of sonatas, operatic arias, French overtures, Italian symphonies, airs, fugues, themes and variations, and a variety of dances.
