A conversation with Don Davis

Emmy winner Don Davis joined me for a new Sound of the Movies interview episode. Since the late 1970s, Don Davis has been an important figure in the world of film scoring. He orchestrated the scores for films and TV series such as "The Incredible Hulk", "Hart to Hart", "Die Hard 2", "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves", "Maverick", "Clear and Present Danger", "Death Becomes Her", "Casper", "Toy Story", "Ransom", and many more. On top of that, Don showed his massive skills as a film composer - scoring "Bound", "The Matrix", "The Matrix Reloaded", "The Matrix Revolutions", "Behind Enemy Lines", "House on Haunted Hill", "The Marine", "Beyond the Sky", and many more. On this episode, we spoke in detail about working with fellow composers such as Randy Newman, David Newman, James Horner, Alan Silvestri, the process of orchestration, his music for "Bound", "The Matrix" franchise, performing "The Matrix" live, his opera "Río De Sangre", "Jurassic Park III", and much more. At Soundtrack Cologne 17, Don was also scheduled to be presented with the lifetime achievement award. This is my 100th interview presentation! I hope you'll enjoy it.
