Newport News has had 4 Amtrak stations. Here's their story.

Join me and ‪@tyleralberico‬ as we visit all four train stations in Newport News, Virginia, that were ever served by Amtrak: the downtown Newport News Station at 23rd Street, Lafayette Square, Lee Hall, and the Newport News Transportation Center. We discuss every station and explain how each fits into the timeline of Amtrak stations in the city. Featuring: ‪@tyleralberico‬ Thanks to Tyler for helping with the audio editing and with some script editing! *A quick note on my comments on the current station: The 112 bus does run every 15 minutes at peak times, though this stops at Patrick Henry Mall, not far from the station. If the 112 were rerouted to serve the train station, it seems possible that those extra peak buses could turn around at the train station instead of the mall, while still passing the mall on the way. The new station has amenities, though these are quite minimal: a staff counter, ticket machine, vending machines, restrooms, and a water fountain. There are no restaurants, stores, etc. inside the station. Citations/sources: https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/...
