MGS5 EV - Wie gut ist das elektrische SUV ab 37.990 € wirklich? Probefahrt Test Review Deutsch 2025

The new MGS5 EV is not only the successor to the well-known MG ZS EV, but also has to compete in the market against vehicles such as the KIA EV3 or Skoda Elroq. But does the new electric compact SUV offer enough to compete? Powered by either a 125 kW (170 hp) or, in the Long Range version, a 170 kW (231 hp) electric motor, the MG S5 EV is designed to travel up to 480 km (WLTP) without recharging thanks to its 62.1 kWh (net) battery in the Long Range version. But how does the electric SUV drive, and what about its fuel consumption and range during normal driving? On the outside, the new MG impresses with a truly attractive design, with details reminiscent of the MG Cyberster. Inside, there are many high-quality surfaces, and even the base model for €37,990 offers extensive equipment and almost all available assistance systems. But what do you really get for your money, and how good is the new MG electric SUV? During my test drive in the MG S5 EV in the Luxury trim, I took a detailed look to see if the new model can compete with its competitors. In the video, I talk about things like the drivetrain, charging, fuel consumption, and range, but also show what the MGS5 has to offer in terms of interior, assistance systems, infotainment, features, price, space, and much more.
