Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi have all recently launched mid-tier performance saloons, in the form of the E43, 540i M Sport and S5. Jaguar too has a cracking V6 powered saloon in the form of the XF S. So how do they stack up? In this video, we test Stuttgart's attempt to answer their own question: is the E63 just a bit too much? The E43 features the brand's latest twin turbo V6 engine, which we like very much. And with power outputs of 295kW and 520Nm - more than both the Beemer and the Jag, it's certainly no slouch. But is it worth sacrificing the sublime comfort that the E-Class offers for that extra performance?
