Overkill Homemade Leaf Shredder

In this one we finish building our leaf vacuum by adding a shredder in front of it. Our build is obviously overkill for leaves, but we wanted it to be able to handle sticks and the occasional rock. We made the housing out of a scrap 20" pipe The hammers out of flat bar The rotors were cut out of a scrap piece of steel The engine was off an old lawn mower The shaft was purchased for 80 bucks The bearings were laying around from previous jobs and work As you can see, most everything was cobbled together for this build, giving it a "steampunk" appearance, very industrial. We plan on using the shredded leaves to make leaf mold for gardens. The whole machine will be mounted to a trailer and the leaves will be blown into a container on the trailer. The smaller the shredded leaves, the most space you have for more. This was a very fun build. I might make a full video of just testing what it can do.
