African Journey at the Fort Wayne Zoo. Filmed October 2, 2024. It’s time for our fourth and final tour of the Fort Wayne Zoo, and we’ve saved the best for last! The African Journey was a 2009 re-imagining and expansion of the zoo’s existing African Veldt, featuring large man-made Kopje boulders, open Savannas, Woodlands and Wetlands. On our journey we’ll see zoo favorites like Giraffes, Zebras, and Lions, as well as many lesser-known African species, like Sitatunga, Allen’s Swamp Monkeys, Great White Pelicans, Servals, Wattled Cranes and many more!
