Editor's Note: For this video, we traveled to Koshigaya, Saitama Prefecture, to feature "Hair Salon Alps," a long-standing traditional barber shop. It all started with an email from a viewer asking, "Would you be interested in filming my father's traditional barber shop?" We replied, "We'd love to!" and paid them a visit. When we arrived, we were greeted by a retro, nostalgic atmosphere. Stepping inside felt like entering a warm, cozy mountain lodge. In fact, the shop's name, "Alps," comes from the father's love for mountain climbing. What surprised us even more was how spotless everything was! The classic barber chairs and shampoo basins, though used for many years, are meticulously cleaned and maintained every single day. Looking at the wall, we noticed beautiful pressed-flower artwork made by the mother. Her creations adding color to the father's workplace, combined with the email request from their daughter—the entire shop radiated a touching sense of family warmth and bond.
