Visite de l'église Saint Joseph à Dieffenbach-lès-Woerth

On ne connaît presque rien de la première église du village, mais une paroisse existe déjà avant le XVIIIᵉ siècle. Le village se développe progressivement après les destructions de la guerre de Trente Ans, et la vie religieuse s’organise autour de la paroisse. Au début du XIXᵉ siècle, une nouvelle église devient nécessaire. En 1832, l’architecte Louis Martin Zégowitz conçoit le projet. L’église est construite en 1833, sur l’emplacement de l’ancienne. Elle est de style néo-roman et possède une nef assez simple avec un chœur en plusieurs parties. En 1893, on ajoute un clocher-porche, qui modifie la façade. L’intérieur est enrichi : peintures religieuses réalisées vers 1920 autels en bois sculpté vitraux et mobilier liturgique L’église a fait l’objet de travaux de restauration importants (notamment entre 2017 et 2019). Ces rénovations ont permis de préserver ce patrimoine local et de le transmettre aux générations suivantes. Almost nothing is known about the village's first church, but a parish already existed before the 18th century. The village gradually developed after the destruction of the Thirty Years' War, and religious life became organized around the parish. The interior was enriched with: religious paintings created around 1920 carved wooden altars stained-glass windows and liturgical furnishings The church has undergone significant restoration work (particularly between 2017 and 2019). These renovations have made it possible to preserve this local heritage and pass it on to future generations.
