Metrô de Lima/Peru

The Lima Metro is a vital public transport system for the capital of Peru, connecting millions of people in a city marked by heavy traffic. With its first line inaugurated in 2011, the system is still under development but already plays an important role in urban mobility. Currently, Line 1 is the main route in operation, with 26 stations along 34 km, connecting the southern and eastern ends of the city. Modern trains offer a fast, safe and efficient alternative to road transport, helping to reduce congestion and pollution. Despite its positive impact, the metro faces challenges, such as the need for greater coverage and integration with other modes of transport. Future expansions, including planned new lines, promise to significantly increase its capacity and reach, transforming the Lima Metro into a more robust and accessible system. It represents an important step towards the modernization and sustainability of mobility in the Peruvian capital.
