CRAIGLEA EARL - 2025 AUTUMN Australian Working Stock Dog Auction

2025 AUTUMN Australian Working Stock Dog Auction 7th-12th March 2025 www.workingstockdogauction.com.au LOT 303 CRAIGLEA EARL Craiglea Earl. 10-month-old Border Collie male. By Craiglea Mack (AI), out of Craiglea Ruby. Double cross of Swan Spud, an outstanding all-round work and trial dog. 2 x Australian Working Cattle Dog of the Year, among many other achievements. Earl’s sire, Craiglea Mack is currently my main dog, only just turned 3 years old. An excellent dog on cattle and sheep, particularly cows and calves. His calm, clean, nose bite is outstanding. Mack has done very little trialling, but he did place at his 2-year-old QLD Cattle Dog Futurity. Earl’s dam, Craiglea Ruby is 7 years old, and been a very reliable work dog. She has spent her life working cattle and sheep, including cows and calves. She has won and placed in many cattle dog trials. She bites the nose and is very trainable. We have successfully sold several of Ruby’s progeny via auction, including Craiglea Ross (AI), who is a ¾ brother to Earl. Ross topped the 2024 AWSDA Winter sale as a yearling. Ruby’s dam, Bells Willow also topped the 2022 Geurie sale as a 6-year-old. Earl has been started on sheep and dry cattle. We recently moved interstate, so Earl received next to no exposure to stock or training for multiple months, until the time of the videos at 10 months old. He has picked up where he left off and is progressing well. Earl is a good natured, later maturing type. He is still a big pup. Smooth coat, traditionally marked, black and white. One blue eye. Earl doesn’t work with a lot of eye, but he is keen, and has progressed easily with very little formal training. He has worked sheep since a pup, and has had a couple of sessions on young, dry cattle. He loves getting out and having a go. Earl has a nice, soft stop and decent call off. He has ridden a side by side and a four-wheeler (still learning). We have retained a litter sister for further training. Earl is a genuine prospect. He is not a fully trained working dog. He has had a great start to life, and has the pedigree and foundation to be a great working dog. He will require training and opportunity to reach his potential. All enquiries welcome and encouraged!
