Welcome to the 41st lesson on reading the Quran slowly and with tajweed for beginners. May Allah grant us the opportunity to benefit from it and may He not lead us astray from the path of the Quran and our Prophet. Quran, page 40 SURA AL-BAQARAH 253-256 INTERPRETATION | SURA AL-BAQARAH These are the prophets! We have favored some of them over others. Among them are those to whom Allah spoke, and He has raised some of them in rank. And We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Holy Spirit (Gabriel). If Allah had willed, those who followed them would not have killed one another after clear proofs had come to them. But they were divided. Among them were some who believed and some who disbelieved. And if Allah had willed, they would not have killed one another. But Allah does what He wills. ﴾253﴿ O you who have believed, spend of what We have provided for you in the cause of Allah before the Day of Resurrection comes, when there is no bargaining, nor friendship, nor intercession. And the disbelievers are the wrongdoers. ﴾254﴿ Allah is there no god but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting. No slumber can seize Him, nor sleep. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on the earth. And who can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before His servants and what is behind them. They cannot grasp anything of His knowledge except what He wills. His throne encompasses the entire heavens and the earth. (He rules over the heavens and the earth, the entire universe.) It is not difficult for Him to protect and preserve the heavens and the earth. Exalted is He, the Great. ﴾255﴿ There is no compulsion in religion, for truth is clearly distinct from error. So whoever rejects the taghut and believes in Allah has grasped a firm handle that will not break. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. ﴾256﴿ SURAH AL-BAQARAH 253-256 AYAH VERSE 253. Those messengers We endowed with gifts, some above others: To one of them Allah spoke; others He raised to degrees (of honor); to Jesus the son of Mary We gave clear (Signs), and strengthened him with the holy spirit. If Allah had so willed, succeeding generations would not have fought among each other, after clear (Signs) had come to them, but they (chose) to wrangle, some believing and others rejecting. If Allah had so willed, they would not have fought each other; but Allah Fulfilleth His plan.
