I don't know what it is about Firebirds that has always fascinated me. Maybe it all just goes back to the story in the intro, the impact that a performance on a specific instrument can have on us. I don't know how anyone that got to see Jimi Hendrix perform in person could ever escape the gravitational pull of the Stratocaster for instance. But for me that's always been Firebirds, though I've never played one...or maybe because I've never played one they are still the myth in my head that keeps playing on a dark stage somewhere.
