How to Adjust the Dose on the Sage(Breville) Oracle Espresso Machines

Out of the box, the Breville Oracle, Oracle Touch, and Oracle Jet dose 22 grams into the double basket, and 12 grams into the single basket. While this may be good for some people, I wanted 16-18 grams, and so I set out to do that. There are two ways to adjust the dose: 1) Lower the connector on the tamper fan, to level and tamp deeper into the basket. This is also good for making more head space above the puck for the extraction. But if this is not enough, then: 2) Buy a shallower basket. I chose the H22 model from IMS, and with it, I get 17-18 grams after the tamping fan connector adjustment. Right on! NOTE: The older versions of the Oracle had a screw off tamper fan connector, which needs to be turned clockwise to loosen.
