First, we'll head to Bezymyannaya Bay, which 50 years ago served as the inspiration for Robinson Crusoe Island in the Soviet film based on Daniel Defoe's novel. Then we'll stop at Soldatskaya Bay, and from there we'll head to Cape Kray Sveta, perhaps Shikotan's most famous landmark. Not far from Cape Kray Sveta is another cape, Krab, on which stands an old Japanese lighthouse. We'll climb into the lighthouse's inner sanctum and see the lens and lantern that guide passing ships.
