Walking the Cup - Scratch Start TIG
Visit my store at https://weldmongerstore.com for TIG cup Kits, TIG Fingers, Gloves, Tungsten, Filler metal, and other quality welding tools. New products being added weekly Walking the cup is mostly for pipe and socket welds but if you dont have access to pipe coupons the next best thing is plate. I used 3/8" plate with some tracks made with a grinder to keep me straight. 160 amps at first but bumped amperage to 170 and that seemed about right. I used a primeweld mts200 mig, tig, stick welder and a 17v torch with a valve.
