Indian Street Food - Samosa Chaat & Thalis' by Gujarati Rasoi at Broadway & Borough Markets, London.
There is no greater vegetarian food in the world that can beat Gujarati vegetarian food; so it is an utter delight to visit this stall which serves up deliciously authentic "Gujarati thali style" traditional home cooked food at Broadway Market (they also have a stall at Borough Market). On our visit, they were serving: Methi Potatoes, Cauliflower & Peas curry, Mung Bean Dal all served on a bed of Cumin infused Rice. We also had a delicious Samosa Chaat: which is a Vegetable Samosa, served with a Chickpea & Potato Curry, Sev- Momra, freshly chopped Coriander & Onion & finally drizzled with Yogurt Raita and Date & Tamarind Sauces. They also had Onion Bhujias & the info at the stall gave a clue to the recipe secrets by stating that the ingredients included Gram Flour, Onion, Coriander & spiced with Black Pepper, crushed Coriander Seeds, Ginger, fresh Fenugreek (Methi), & Coriander Leaves (we have to admit that we were so full that we didn't have a chance to taste these...........but this gives us more reason for us to pay a return visit........wink, wink). The talented owners Urvesh and his mother Lalita are keeping to recipes that have been passed down in rural India over many, many generations and in doing so are giving people an opportunity to taste authentic home cooked foods that you simply will not get on an Indian restaurant menu in the UK. You know everything's freshly cooked because they make everything in full view of you in their open kitchen while you wait, and thankfully, everything is served piping hot without the use of a microwave oven. If all this has made you hungry, then you can find them at any of the following London markets: Borough Market, Broadway (Saturday only) Market. They also have a restaurant located at 10C Bradbury St, London N16 8JN If you have any questions you can phone them on: 020 8616 7914 or you can message them via their social media pages: Twitter: https://twitter.com/GujaratiRasoi?lan... & Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/gujaratiraso... (The main video was recorded at Broadway Market on 6th September 2014 - but we have also included footage & photos from past visits on 9th October 2013, 3rd July 2014, 10th July 2014 including their stall at Borough Market).
