AHEAD CMS-Designed Medicare Fee-for-Service Hospital Global Budget Methodology Version 3.0 Webinar

On April 8, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) hosted a webinar to review the AHEAD Model CMS-designed Medicare Fee-for-Service (FFS) hospital global budget (HGB) methodology, specifically enhancements reflected in the forthcoming Version 3.0 HGB Financial Specifications. During this webinar, the AHEAD Model Team reviewed the AHEAD Model CMS-designed Medicare FFS HGB and key concepts, enhancements to the AHEAD HGB Financial Specifications from Version 2.0 to 3.0, the case for hospital participation in HGBs along with other operational considerations, and how CMS will calculate the HGB payment amount for hospitals.
