In this video I build a 4S 5000mAh Li-Ion battery pack using XTAR 21700HP 5000mAh lithium-ion cells. I'll take you through the entire process, from preparing the cells to spot welding, balance leads, insulation, and the finished battery ready for flight. The XTAR 21700HP cells are designed for high-performance applications, offering an impressive combination of capacity and power. Each cell is rated for 35A continuous discharge and can deliver up to 90A pulse discharge, making them suitable for demanding RC and FPV setups that require both long flight times and strong burst performance. Whether you're building a battery for a fixed-wing FPV aircraft, drone, robotics project or another DIY application, this video will give you a good overview of the process and some tips I've learnt along the way.
