Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi’s surprise visit to the Civil Service Secretariat has raised questions about absenteeism and accountability after he found several offices locked and many officials absent during working hours. The governor expressed disappointment and warned that his administration will not tolerate indiscipline within the state’s civil service. Nigeria’s 2026 budget allocation of ₦8.05 billion for church and mosque projects has also drawn public attention after accountability organisation Tracka revealed funding for religious facilities, including renovations, solar installations, boreholes, worship equipment and other projects.
