Weather update (July 10, 11 p.m.): Typhoon Inday maintained its strength Friday as it moved north towards the southern islands of Japan. At 4 p.m., Typhoon Inday was located 525 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. It packs winds of 140 kilometers per hour with gusts up to 170 kph and is moving north northwestward at 20 kph. Wind signal No. 2 is still up over Batanes, eastern Babuyan Islands, and Santa Ana, Cagayan. Signal No. 1 remains in effect over the rest of Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, eastern Mountain Province, eastern Ifugao, northern Abra, and Ilocos Norte.
