Authorities Found Children's Bones and Called It 'No Damage'

In June 2020, heavy machinery rolled into Ballyhack Graveyard in County Wexford. Despite warnings to the Council, the Guards, and the Church, an elderly local man dug a trench through centuries-old graves to extend a family plot. Bones—potentially those of famine victims or children—were exposed on spoil heaps, yet officials concluded "no malicious damage" was done. How does a site holding 370 years of history, including victims of the Alfred D. Snow shipwreck and the Great Famine, get desecrated while authorities stand by? The answer lies in the "ownerless" status of these forgotten grounds. In this investigation, I am on location at Ballyhack to document the aftermath. I reconstruct the timeline of those few days in June when concrete was poured over history, and ask why nobody stopped it. 🕯️ Join the expedition to uncover Ireland's forgotten history: Subscribe to Grave Expeditions Timestamps: 00:00 = The Promise 00:35 = Reverend Patrick Everard (1650) 01:43 = Thomas Whitty (1940) 04:05 = The Un-owned Graveyard 05:17 = The Brutal Desecration (2020) 08:45 = Final Thoughts #irishhistory #wexford #wexfordhistory #ballyhack #truecrimestory #GraveExpeditions #tragedystory SOURCES & ATTRIBUTIONS: The 2020 Excavation Scandal: "Outrage at major construction operation in historic cemetery" (Independent.ie) https://www.independent.ie/regionals/...
