After working as a magazine and advertising photographer, he joined the editorial department of the Yakuza-specialized magazine "Jitsuwajidai." After serving as editor-in-chief of "Jitsuwajidai BULL," he became a freelancer. Currently, he contributes articles on organized crime to weekly and true crime magazines. His numerous books include "Sakana to Yakuza: Chasing the Yakuza's Huge Source of Funding: The Poaching Business" (Shogakukan), "Undercover Report: The Yakuza's Battlefield" (Bungei Shunju Shinsho), and "Yakuza and Nuclear Power Plants: An Undercover Account of Fukushima Daiichi" (Bungei Shunju Bunko).
