Inspired by the pioneering Infant Jesus sisters who made the perilous and arduous journey from France to set up the first CHIJ school and orphanage in Singapore in 1854. Their strong faith and selfless love for children, especially those who were poor and disadvantaged, helped them to overcome their nostalgia for their homeland and the hardships of missionary work in a foreign land. God gave me the idea of using the photos of the IJ sisters with some artistic licence to reveal the colour and richness of their missionary life, beyond the hardships and sacrifices.
