Please refrain from slandering or using profanity against the government with locals you encounter while traveling. You never know what kind of repercussions might arise later. China rarely accepts cash payments, and there are almost no places that accept card payments either. Therefore, you must prepare local Chinese payment apps such as Alipay and WeChat Pay. The security of the personal information you must provide when signing up for these apps is not guaranteed. Access to foreign internet sites and the use of foreign apps are not permitted within China. Therefore, you must either prepare a SIM card with unrestricted internet access in advance or use a bypass program. I do not recommend free bypass programs due to the high risk of hacking and other dangers. You may find using the internet extremely frustrating when using bypass programs. If you cannot speak Chinese, the difficulty of traveling increases significantly. In China, there are many staff members who do not speak English, even at international airports and luxury hotels. Furthermore, due to regional dialects and accents, using translation tools is often difficult. Except for major cities with large foreign populations like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, it is safe to assume that the chances of English being understood are close to zero. If you consider all these factors, researching and preparing in advance can be a headache.
