El COLECTIVO más CHICO del MUNDO (Línea 109)

In the Villa Real district, in Juan B. Terán Square, almost every weekend Jorge Ignacio, better known as "Bocha," gives rides to adults and children alike in his spectacular scale model bus from line 109. Jorge is 63 years old and has been a bus mechanic since he was 21. Born into a family of bus mechanics, he started working on line 106, then moved to lines 124 and 34, and for the last three years, he's been working on line 109 (Liniers - Central Post Office). A few years ago, his granddaughter played with a Barbie doll's pedal-powered Jeep go-kart. It was heavy and required a lot of effort, so she got tired quickly. Her grandfather then fitted it with an electric motor powered by a battery, and they would take it for rides around Terán Square. One day, she told him that all the children wanted to ride in it and said she wanted a bus. Jorge made a first prototype with a Zanella motorcycle engine, but it had room for the driver and one more seat, but it was still too small, so he built another bus that took four and a half years to complete. This bus, the smallest in the world, has a capacity for seven passengers, a Gilera engine, Fiat Duna car brakes, and go-kart seats. He created the chassis and bodywork himself, and it was painted and decorated like an original. I really appreciate Jorge's good vibes and congratulate him on his amazing creation, his bus is beautiful!
