The book "The Tourist's Gaze," a classic study by John Urry, in this edition in partnership with Jonas Larsen, reflects on and inquires about global-scale tourism and the ways in which travelers construct their gaze and imagination about the places they visit or wish to visit. A reference for the training of students, workers, and researchers in the field of tourism, it engages with areas such as history, anthropology, and the psychology of consumption, deeply connecting to the impact of new technologies on travel and travelers. For this panel celebrating the book launch, we have invited: Danilo Santos Miranda (opening remarks), philosopher, social scientist, and specialist in Cultural Action. Director of Sesc São Paulo. Advisor to various entities, including the Itaú Cultural Foundation, Rede Nossa São Paulo, and the Municipal Tourism Council of the City of São Paulo. Member of Art for the World, based in Switzerland. Jonas Larsen, professor of mobility and urban studies at Roskilde University (Denmark). Co-author of the third edition of the book "The Tourist Gaze 3.0" (Sesc Editions, 2022), along with John Urry.
