THROWBACK TO MOTHER’S DAY 1980 AT VINEYARD YORBA LINDA John Wimber asked Lonnie Frisbee to come speak at his church on Mothers Day, 1980. It literally changed history. This is a throwback to those early days of the Vineyard. I wouldn’t become a part of Vineyard until 1982, when Lonnie would return from South Africa after an intense ministry trip with the youth there. That night was my first night. That night my life would forever be altered as I witnessed Holy Spirit move on person after person... including my own two year old daughter Jenni. Those early days changed my life… and arguably have transformed millions to date... individuals... movements... denominations. As we proceed through this Global attention stealing pandemic ... where very few are actually even able to gather other than through online experience... I felt it important to remember the plain simple passionate return to Jesus.... it's time for the Elijah's of God to rise in a new generation. It's time to remember what we are for... not the show that we call church... but the expression of Jesus through our lives, with the love He gives us towards one another and this world... and with hearts tender to Him doing a new thing IN us and not just through us! I blended early worship into the message from Lonnie to give a memory of what it was like…. I don’t know of any video that came from that time… so, listen… you don’t need to watch! It includes the sermon preached by Lonnie Frisbee on that Mother’s Day, in which a revival broke out and the Vineyard Churches was changed forever.
